About
Background
The short version.
I started in civil engineering — a BSc from Unicesumar with an open-access capstone on gravity-fed rainwater harvesting in Maringá, PR (NBR 15527, Rippl Method, 10 years of INMET data). I followed it up with McGill's Integrated Water Resources Management course (89/100), where my final paper analysed the Pirapo River — the watershed that supplies Maringá — and a Cone Penetration Testing certification on the geotechnical side.
In 2021 I switched into software. I've spent nearly five years at Getty Images, now as a Senior Software Engineer on the team behind Getty Images' and iStock's generative-AI image tools. I've shipped customer-facing features like reference-image generation and seed locking, helped move the product off Ruby on Rails onto a TypeScript stack, and written architecture and testing patterns that other teams have since adopted. The intersection — software for water and civil infrastructure, built by an engineer — is where I want to spend the next decade.
